Celebrating 62 Years of Athletics in Aruba

September 6, 2025
Today, the Arubaanse Atletiek Bond (AAB), Aruba Athletic Federation (AAF), proudly celebrates 62 years since its founding on the 6th of September 1963 by Harry Jansen (R.I.P).
We honor and thank all those who have guided our federation over the years — including former presidents Juan “Junior” Dake, Evelyne Farrell, Virginia Dirksz and André Angela — along with their dedicated board members who helped shape the path of athletics in Aruba.
We also recognize with pride our current president, Mrs. Anecy Toussaint, and the entire AAF Board, who continue to work with passion and commitment to build the future of athletics on our island.
Most importantly, we celebrate our athletes, past and present whose dedication and achievements inspire Aruba and carry our flag with pride 🇦🇼 💪✨
We also celebrate and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our amazing volunteers, dedicated stakeholders, supportive partners and generous sponsors for believing in the power of athletics.
As we mark this milestone, we soon will celebrate with the official reopening of our newly renovated Stadion GPT, a place where athletic dreams are born and future champions will rise.
Here’s to many more years of growth, unity, and excellence in athletics for our island 🌟🇦🇼
