Both training sessions took place in the evening under the lights of the GPT Stadium, creating an energetic and motivating atmosphere for all participants.
The focus of the night was on the long jump and triple jump events. Participants began with the long jump, practicing every phase, the approach, take-off, flight and landing. During the flight phase, they learned the three key techniques: the Sail Technique, Hang Technique and Hitch-Kick Technique.
As Mr. Roy Thomas from Jamaica, a certified World Athletics Trainer, highlighted, the correlation between the approach and take-off is essential for achieving efficiency and distance in the long jump.
Next came the triple jump, where the group worked on the approach, hop, step and jump phases. Under the guidance of Mr. Roy Thomas and Assistant Trainer Mr. Peter Simon from Aruba, participants continued to show great progress, focus and teamwork.
It was a truly inspiring and educational night of practical coaching, with participants applying their theoretical knowledge to real field situations. Each day brings them closer to becoming World Athletics Level 1 Certified Coaches and they’re doing it with passion and dedication 🇦🇼💪🏃♀️🏃♂️
Another productive and exciting day completed, stay tuned for Day 5
