At the MEAC Championships on May 14, 2026, Rebecca Jansen of Team Pegasus made history by breaking Aruba’s long-standing Women’s 10,000m National Record.
The previous record of 38:23.0, set by Cornelia Melis in Indianapolis on August 13, 1987, had stood for an incredible 39 years.
Rebecca’s outstanding performance has now written a new chapter in the history of Aruban athletics. 🇦🇼🔥 Her dedication, perseverance and hard work continue to inspire the next generation of athletes across Aruba.
